Participation in the Choralies | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Who can participate in the Choralies ? Anyone who likes choral singing can register individually, adults, young adults and teenagers from the age of 16 (only under an adult’s responsibility if underage, the responsible adult must be staying in Vaison). Children from the age of 12 can participate only as part of an existing choir and in specific workshops. Is it necessary to be part of a group or choir to participate ? No, subscriptions are individual and anyone who wishes to sing, listen, discover and participate in the event can subscribe. If you do come as a part of a choir/group, it is better if you name someone that will represent your choir during the welcome day in Vaison (August 2nd). How can my choir participate ? Each member subscribes individually to a workshop, all choir members don’t have to be in the same workshop. However, please remember to name someone to represent you and collect all documents for the group during the welcome day in Vaison (August 2nd). Your choir can also perform in a concert between August 3rd and 9th with all members even those who do not wish to participate in les Choralies. These choristers will be welcomed under the name “Passagers-Chanteurs”(“Passing singers”). Contact the office in Lyon for further information. Can I come to the Choralies for a few days only ? If you can’t stay for the whole duration of the festival, you can subscribe to short workshops (5 days from August 2nd to 7th) or discovery workshops (3 days from August 8th to 10th). You can also subscribe for a few consecutive days in the workshop 1 Day 1 Conductor. All these possibilities come under the 2nd Option on the subscription form (formule Journée-Choralies). Can I come with my children ? Yes, some workshops are open to existing choirs of children from 12 years-old. Workshop 20 is specifically open to children between 8 and 16 years old. Young adults from 16 to 18 can participate in any workshop. In both cases, an adult, legal representative, must be participating in les Choralies from the 2nd to the 11th of August. Note: Underage children cannot work in a ‘service’. Can I pay the « young adult » fee ? Yes, for every workshop if you are between 16 and 26 years old (born between 31st July 1983 and 31st July 1993). Or if you are between 12 and 16, only in specific workshops. For further information see workshop description and subscription form. What is the fee for a young adult not staying at the camp site? The 230€ fee is applicable no matter what the chosen accommodation and food formula are (except special fee for workshop 20). |

Can you be a volunteer (work in a ‘service’ of the organisation) and participate in a workshop? The manager of your chosen ‘service’ will try and work around your schedule if you chose to go to a workshop as well, but bear in mind that it is not only a question of time, but also energy during, before and after the festival. I wish to subscribe to a short workshop and then to remain in Vaison for a few days as a tourist after the end of my workshop. Can I keep my accommodation at the Choralies campsite? This is only possible if you extend your subscription, either by paying a daily fee, or by paying the full fee. You will then benefit from all the choralies services. Are the ‘discovery’ workshops meant for participants of short workshops? The ‘discovery’ workshops last 3 days (8 to 10th august) and don’t issue in a concert.
